This pressure compensating emitter is in the same family as a Xeri-bug emitter, differing only on how they are installed. Rain Bird Shrub Bugs are meant to thread onto a male adapter, making it more suitable for irrigation systems that only use sch. 40 piping.  Furthermore, Rain Bird Shrub X-Bugs emit at a rate of gallons per hour, meaning these micro drip emitters are perfect for irrigating to your hedges and bushes.
