Sch. 40, 2" Reducer Bushing (SL x FIPT)

Bushings are a lot like adapters, but with a focus on connecting pipes of different diameters by reducing the fitting. There are 3 types of bushing connectors:

  • SLIP x SLIP
  • SLIP x THREAD
  • THREAD x THREAD

Bushings with the outer diameter that is slip, and an inner diameter that is threaded are perfect for irrigation systems that require a smaller female thread size, than the main water source. However, without any adhesives, PVC pipe and fittings will fit together, but will not be watertight. So, be sure to use teflon tape, primer, and glue to securely attach any fittings to pipe.
