Wirsbo Plastic Tee
One of the main benefits of using PEX pipe versus rigid pipe is its flexibility. PEX can often maneuver around corners without the use of elbows or other additional fittings, this reduces the number of connection points.
What IS the difference between traditional PEX and Wirsbo fittings?
The short answer is that Wirsbo IS PEX! Really, the main difference is the design of the barb and thus HOW it is installed. Both require PEX pipe, (PEX-a can be used for both cold expansion and crimp applications.) However, Wirsbo requires a plastic compression ring while traditional PEX is installed with a copper ring. Furthermore, there are different tools needed for install. Make sure you have the right components to avoid leaks!
